Let the parents choose the prompts

Ask the parents whether they like the activity before printing. The starter card includes guesses about arrival details and a name, along with a wish for the first year. Guests don't need to answer every line.

The complete set lets you edit or remove prompts. If the parents would rather avoid guesses about weight or timing, replace those lines with wishes or leave writing space. Predictions are just for fun; don't frame them as advice about pregnancy or birth.

Give guests time to fill them in

Set the cards out during arrivals or after food, when people have somewhere to write. Tell guests where to leave finished cards and whether the parents plan to read them aloud. If you'd like to keep them private, say so.

For a quieter option, pair predictions with advice cards. Guests can choose the card they prefer instead of filling in both. Our guide to activities without the spotlight has other ways to keep participation comfortable.

Collect the cards before clearing tables

Write a guest name on each card if you want to remember who made each prediction. Put completed cards in an envelope or folder before plates and cups are cleared. A dedicated collection spot keeps them away from spills.

If you're planning a later contest, agree on the winning rule now and ask guests to leave contact details separately with the host. You might choose the closest date guess, for example. The parents can also keep the whole stack and enjoy reading it whenever they like.
